TRPC’s Executive and Management Team
John Kopra, CPA is President and CEO of The Retirement Plan Company, LLC. John received his MBA from State University of New York. He has over 30 years of experience in investment management, qualified retirement plan consulting, recordkeeping, and government reporting services. As a CPA, he practiced and held management roles with national and regional CPA firms before founding TRPC. John is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Tennessee Society of CPAs, and is former President of the Middle Tennessee Employee Benefits Council.
Patricia Bowker, CPA is CFO and Director of Operations for TRPC. Patricia has over 20 years of professional experience in the employee benefits industry. She received her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from David Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN. She is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of CPAs as well as the Tennessee Society of CPAs.
Patrick Hale, JD, MBA is TRPC’s Director of Client Services. Patrick received his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Ouachita Baptist University and earned a Master of Business Administration and Juris Doctor from the University of Arkansas. He has over 18 years experience within the retirement plan industry. Prior to joining TRPC, Patrick held leadership positions with several third party administration and investment advisory firms. Patrick is licensed to practice law within the state of Arkansas and attained the designation of Qualified Plan Administrator (QPA) from the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries (ASPPA).
Rick Pummill, CLU, QPA, QKA is the U.S. Manager of Consulting and Compliance for TRPC. Rick has worked over 30 years in the development, management and administration of qualified retirement plans. He has assisted thousands of business owners and their advisors in identifying opportunities to help management achieve their objectives. Rick earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Dartmouth College and received his Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation from the American College and his Qualified Pension Administrator (QPA) and Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA) designations from the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries (ASPPA). Rick is an active member of ASPPA and the Dayton, Ohio Employee Benefits Group. He also serves on the boards of several local non-profit organizations.
Jeff Shouldis, FSA, EA, MAAA leads the actuarial department at TRPC. He has extensive retirement expertise working with clients and offering consulting advice around pension plans, cash balance plans and retiree medical benefits. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, an Enrolled Actuary and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries. Jeff graduated from Johns Hopkins University with BS degrees in Mathematical Sciences and Chemical Engineering.
Tim Brown, QKA is the Division Leader for TRPC’s office in Dayton, OH. He has over 25 years of experience in the retirement plan industry. Tim received his Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems from Wright State University in Dayton Ohio. He is a member of the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries (ASPPA) and has obtained his Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA) designation. Prior to joining TRPC, he worked for another third party administration firm and spent two years working in national accounts for Corbel (now Relius Recordkeeping Administration software). Tim has spent the last 10 years focused on sales and marketing, as well as fostering and developing relationships with the clients of TRPC.
Rick Vaughan, ASA, EA, MAAA, MSPA is Division Leader for TRPC’s office in Greenville, SC. He has over 35 years of experience in qualified retirement plan consulting, recordkeeping, and government reporting services. He has worked with countless business owners and their professional advisors in order to create retirement programs that meet the objectives of management. Rick received his Bachelors and Masters degrees in Mathematics from Clemson University. He is an Associate of the Society of Actuaries, an Enrolled Actuary, a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries and a Member of the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries (ASPPA).
Carson Vaughan, QKA is Business Manager for TRPC’s office in Greenville, SC. He has over 10 years of experience in the areas of qualified retirement plan design and consulting. He also has extensive experience in the employee education aspect of retirement plans. This experience helps to develop a retirement program that is truly beneficial to the employees of the plan sponsor. Carson received his Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Management from Clemson University. He is an active member of the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries (ASPPA), where he earned the Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA) credential.
Scott Cloud, CPC is TRPC’s Director of Sales and Marketing and is located in Columbus, OH. Scott has over 10 years of experience in the retirement plan industry, with expertise in plan design, documents, administration, and consulting. His role with TRPC includes new business development and relationship management with our investment advisor partners. Scott received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Miami University (OH), and will earn an MBA from The Ohio State University in May, 2013. He is an active member of the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries (ASPPA) and has earned his Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) designation.
Amit Kakar serves as the Global Business Head for TRPC Service Team Private Limited, India. His core responsibilities include overseeing the Indian business and executive functions at TRPC. He is responsible for managing the company’s investment in people, through recruiting and training new team members for our India offices. Amit has a Master of Business Administration from IIPM India and has over nine years of experience in the retirement plan industry. Prior to his association with TRPC, Amit worked with other leading Retirement Administration companies, where he had global responsibility for operations, client services, performance attribution, business continuity and planning and training.
Manisha Kakar serves as the Business Leader for TRPC Service Team Private Limited, India. She leads operations, transitions and process improvements for clients at TRPC Service Team and holds notable insight into the varied activities of retirement plan administration. Manisha has a Master of Business Administration from the Institute of Marketing and Management, Delhi, India, and has over nine years of experience in managing operations. She has been responsible for new projects, planning process reengineering, and maintaining deliverables.
Arun Mittal leads the Cafeteria Administration team at TRPC. He is responsible for developing and executing strategies that increase productivity and efficiency, and enhance technical talent across the team. A science graduate from Delhi University with a Master of Business Administration from ICFAI University, India, Arun holds over eight years of experience in the retirement plan industry. He possesses key expertise in the areas of both retirement plan and cafeteria plan administration, and is an asset to the organization in terms of knowledge and transitioning new projects.
